Geochemical approaches to loess analysis

Manchester Geographical Society funded project designed to investigate the impact of analytical approaches on loess geochemistry

Geochemical analysis of bulk sediment has become of the key lines of investigation into the past environmental conditions. It is used to investigate provenance, weathering, sediment transport. However there is no one consistent approach across aeolian studies. Together with Dr Jacek Skurzynski (University of Wroclaw) we aims to understand the impact of laboratory methods on elemental composition of bulk loess. This project is supported by Manchester Geographical Society Research Fund.
